Introducing an exciting new and talented artist, Vicky White
Wildlife and Sporting Prints are proud to announce the addition of this new name to our portfolio of highly regarded and renowned artists.
Born in 1977, Vicky studied Scientific and Natural History Illustration at Blackpool and Fylde School of Art in Lancashire, where she achieved a BA (1st Class Hons). She went on to complete her MA studies at the Royal College of Art in London. She now lives and works as a professional artist in South London.
Vicky’s inspiration for this fabulous contemporary wildlife collection comes from her recent travels in India, including time spent ‘behind the scenes’ with the animal rescue organisation Wildlife SOS. She is passionate about the conservation of dwindling wildlife around the world and devotes her talent to helping make a difference by heightening awareness and raising money through her work. She works primarily using pencil on primed panel, but she does also produce paintings in oil. Characteristically omitting any sense of environment, she chooses instead to focus directly on the ‘sitter’- her pictures are as much portraits of individuals as they are renderings of animals.
Vicky has been exhibiting since 2002, and her first solo exhibition ‘Djinns: Drawings of Indian Animals’ was launched in November 2007, through Jonathan Cooper’s Park Walk Gallery, Chelsea. Vicky’s work is now highly sought after and originals sell for up to £7,000.
Although Vicky’s work is a deviation from our traditional British wildlife subjects, we were so taken with her style and talent that we could not resist including her in our collection, and believe her reputation as a leading wildlife artist is destined to soar.
Wiltshire Business Woman Re-Launches Wildlife and Sporting Prints
Wiltshire business woman, Julia Bowes, has recently taken over WILDLIFE AND SPORTING PRINTS, producing exclusive limited edition Giclée prints of paintings by some of the UK’s most highly regarded and renowned wildlife and sporting artists - Rodger McPhail, Steven Porwol, Owen Williams and Ben Hoskyns, to name just a few of the favourites whose original works sell for many thousands of pounds. Julia is also signing up new artists, with the intention of offering an even wider choice of both traditional and contemporary work.
When asked what makes WILDLIFE AND SPORTING PRINTS different Julia explained that there are many websites, each selling hundreds of limited edition prints, but limited edition usually means runs of anything up to 500 or more. WILDLIFE AND SPORTING PRINTS stands out from them because limited edition means between just 30 - 75 reproductions of any single painting. Giclée printing can reproduce a painting to such a high quality that it is hard to distinguish between the print and the original. Each print is personally inspected, approved, signed and numbered by the artist. She is keen to stress that it is, and always will be, a very personalised and flexible service. The option to have prints mounted, using a high quality double mount, is also available.
Although the name WILDLIFE AND SPORTING PRINTS has been established since 2004, Julia has re-launched the brand name through her own company. However, Julia is no stranger to the business as she helped to keep it running during 2006 and 2007, when she worked with its then owner.
As part of Julia’s re-launch the website has undergone a complete update. Julia’s new and fresh marketing campaign has also taken off with a comprehensive brochure and ads in specialist publications such as ‘The Field’. You will also find Julia at some of the regional Game Fairs.
